Dr. Bo Li is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she leads the Secure Learning Lab, and Director of AI Research, Safety and Alignment at Meta. She co-founded Virtue AI and served as its CEO through 2026, building enterprise AI security, red-teaming, guardrails, and governance for models, applications, and increasingly autonomous agents. Her research spans AI security, trustworthy machine learning, and alignment, and produced the "adversarial stop sign" attack and the award-winning DecodingTrust framework for evaluating the trustworthiness of large language models. A former postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science at UC Berkeley, she serves Actava.ai as its Chief AI Safety and Alignment Advisor.
