Own your own AI destiny with actAVA’s AI factory and Claude for Healthcare & Lifesciences
At actAVA.ai, we’re excited to share news of Claude’s latest announcement: an impressive suite of pre-built Connectors that seamlessly integrate with a wide range of platforms. These pre-built Connectors are specifically designed to make healthcare information easier to find, access, and understand. Now, Claude can directly pull data from industry-standard systems and databases. For healthcare payers and providers, this means you are one step closer to autonomy from point-solution AI vendors and expensive “AI consultants”.

Claude for Healthcare features native integrations with commonly used medical and scientific databases, including the CMS Coverage Database, ICD-10 codes, and PubMed. (Anthropic)
Claude Connectors
Here are just a few examples of the new source connectors now available:
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Coverage Database: This source provides coverage details for Medicare National Coverage Determinations (NCDs) and Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs), detailed billing codes (HCPCS, ICD-10), and guidance to help providers avoid payment denials. It can be used by AI agents that support revenue cycle, compliance, and Medicare policy workflows. (ex. medical coverage determinations agent, prior authorization agents, claims appeal agents).
The International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) Database: This source contains diagnosis and procedure codes from the CMS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It can be used by AI agents for medical coding, billing accuracy, and claims management workflows (ex. autonomous and assisted medical coding agents, clinical documentation improvement agents, diagnostic and clinical decision support agents, and administrative and operational agents).
The National Provider Identifier Registry: This source contains information on healthcare providers and organizations that have received a unique 10-digit National Provider Identifier (NPI) as required by HIPAA. It is also managed by CMS. It can be used by agents that look up providers to verify details such as names, addresses, and specialties (taxonomy) to standardize billing and administrative transactions in healthcare (e.g., provider verification agents, credentialing agents, directory management agents, and claims validation agents).
PubMed Database: This source is a comprehensive search engine from the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) for biomedical and life sciences literature, providing millions of citations and abstracts from MEDLINE, journals, and books, with links to full-text articles in PubMed Central (PMC) and publishers, serving as a crucial tool for researchers, clinicians, and students. It's maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and indexes content from fields like medicine, health, biology, and chemistry.
Pre-Built Agent Library Using Claude Connectors
Our very own Joon Lee used actAVA and an afternoon to build some new agents for our KORA agent library based on the data sources mentioned by Anthropic's healthcare skills.
Provider Network Intelligence Agent: agentic workflows for validating healthcare providers, searching for available specialists, and verifying professional credentials to ensure network integrity.
Clinical Evidence Research & Synthesis Agent: agentic workflows for identifying relevant clinical articles and synthesizing this information to build comprehensive literature reviews.
Clinical Trial Protocol Architect Agent The Clinical Trial Protocol Designer Agent designs rigorous trial protocols, assesses the practical feasibility of proposed studies, and identifies historical precedents to guide the design process.
Prior Authorization Analyst Agent: agentic workflows for automating the payer review process for prior authorization requests by validating medical necessity against coverage policies and generating formal decisions supported by clinical rationale.
Medicare Coverage Intelligence Agent: agentic workflows for researching Medicare policies, monitors regulatory updates, and identifies specific regional coverage determinations to ensure compliance.
In essence, we took what amounts to several “point-solutions” and made them with our KORA AI factory for healthcare and life sciences.

KORA|BLUE is actAVA's agent-builder and orchestration engine, purpose-built to meet the unique demands of the healthcare and life sciences industries. Unlike generic AI tools or rigid single-purpose workflows, we provide a comprehensive "nervous system" that coordinates multiple AI agents, data sources, and clinical workflows into a single intelligent, compliant ecosystem. Our tools give you a self-contained feedback loop for continuous improvement. Agents move through a complete lifecycle—creation, optimization, testing, deployment, observation, reinforcement, and refinement. Like a manufacturing assembly line, each cycle produces agents that are increasingly specialized, precise, and cost-effective.
Joon didn't just build the agents; he built the security testing and reinforcement that go with them. All in a matter of hours per agent. Joon used KORA|RED, actAVA's comprehensive automated testing and validation platform built specifically for healthcare AI systems. For all agents in our system, we have pre-built AI evaluations across 3 vectors:
Outcomes: Accuracy, safety, and clinical effectiveness.
Compliance: Regulatory adherence and ethical standards.
Costs: Operational efficiency and resource optimization.
And all of these agents come pre-connected to our agentic reinforcement learning suite, KORA|GREEN, that enables AI agents to evolve and improve continuously within live healthcare environments. Unlike static AI systems that remain frozen after deployment, we create truly adaptive AI that gets smarter with every patient interaction, clinical decision, and operational workflow. With actAVA, your AI agents don't just assist you; they adapt, evolve, and become more valuable over time, turning your operations into a self-improving intelligent system that grows alongside your organization's needs.
In Summary
By bridging the gap between disparate healthcare systems, Claude’s new Connectors help ensure the right information is always at your fingertips. actAVA is proud to partner with Claude as one of the many frontier LLM models we connect to to make scaled, safe enterprise agent creation affordable and democratized.
Our customers can control their own agentic AI destiny with our intuitive, no-code conversational KORA interfaces, which enable non-technical teams to create sophisticated agentic AI solutions without technical expertise. Its multi-dimensional intelligence architecture operates across three critical layers. Together, these capabilities create an adaptive ecosystem where security, compliance, and intelligent decision-making work seamlessly, allowing organizations to scale AI confidently across their entire operation while maintaining the rigor and protection that health care demands.
actAVA.ai remains committed to supporting healthcare organizations with AI solutions that drive efficiency, accuracy, and better outcomes.
